Yandex search engine has lowest COVID-19 mainstream narrative bias!
A competitive experiment you can try yourself :)
Igor Chudov wrote a Substack article recently about a hit piece against Geert Vanden Bossche written by Jonathan Jarry at McGill University.
I commented on how when I Googled “Geert Vanden Bossche” this infuriating hit piece was the #1 result. In response another reader commented that I should try Swisscows, Qwant, or Yandex as alternative search engines. So, I performed a little experiment and tried searching for “Geert Vanden Bossche” in all three search engines. Here are the results…
As you can see, with Swisscows the hit piece was the #2 result. With Qwant things improved and the hit piece was the #3 result. But wait, with Yandex the hit piece was way down to the #5 result preceded by our very own Igor Chudov and his thoughtful Substack article explaining why Jonathan Jarry’s position was wrong and Geert’s was right. We have to use Yandex now right!?
This is my first Substack article and while admittedly it’s rather short I hope it returns immediate value by creating awareness of Yandex and its reduced bias, as proven via real world testing! With Yandex you’ll actually see Geert’s “Voice for Science and Solidarity” website before the hit piece (isn’t that nice) and it is a website I recommend visiting. There is of course also a side story here about why the hit piece features as #1 on Google but we’ll leave that for a future discussion.
P.S. I want to give a special thank you to the first two subscribers of this Substack, Leanne and Laurie!
I have not heard of these search sites before such as Yandex, Swisscow, etc. I assume these are even better than duck, duck go and Freespoke???
